• Thermaltake envision how PC peripheral designs can relish digital lifestyle to help people do what they love to do. Change the way people pursue their passions by incorporate modern design into PC peripherals that allows people to pursue their passions more easily, more powerfully and more enjoyably. Give them everything they desired to do what they love.
  • "What can we do differently?" During Autumn 2008 a team of RDs, IDs and PMs were formed with the project code name "HQ." The team started researching current market PC peripherals design trend, supported technology, components, and technical skills. Three months into the research, the team concluded with three segments to focus on in the new design of PSU.
    1.Aesthetics Design – a modern elegant design
2.Industrial Design – able to reach a specific performance in a restricted area
3.Thermal Design – has to reach regulated safety concerns
  • At the beginning the team was pretty much shooting in the dark, with industrial technical issues like molding, welting, IC layout and more. Over the last 2 decades, PC industry has reached its maturity with set regulation and technical support, trying to breakthrough the current situation is our main concern and focus! But how can we design something that is outside of the box and still maintaining all the necessary functionality of the PC peripherals without breaking its current supported technology and technical skills in the manufacturing process is the hardest part.
  • The design objective of the Toughpower ™ Grand series is to create a sportive, exquisite, unique and stylish power supply for high-end gamers with high efficiency, in order to satisfy the functional need as well as the spiritual need. After hundreds of days of searching in the dark and bumping into walls, the team eventually broke the walls and saw the light. The embryo has been processed, since it was the first, there were still some rough edges need to be polished. After another hundred days, with back and forth communication on details with the staffs at the factory on June 4th 2010, Toughpower Grand made it first debut in the PC industry with 650W and 750W with 80Plus Gold Certified.
  • With a great respond in the market of Toughpower Grand 750W and 650W in 2010 of its tough matte surface and red decorative line display the distinguishing feature of sportiveness, and large air intake area with honeycomb design is reminiscent of a high-performance sports car, thus decisively enhancing the overall design. The team did not settle with the situation and want to take a step further. Normally, when a PSU needed to increase in performance the physical size will increase too. The team kept the overall exterior design of Toughpower Grand and redesigned the circuits and successfully introduced 850W, 1050W and 1200W on February 2011.
  • Since 1953, iF has invited international manufacturers and designers to enter their products in the iF design awards.
